What is it
Free cashless treatment in hospital for serious illness, for eligible Tamil Nadu families.
Am I eligible
For families who are permanent residents of Tamil Nadu with a yearly family income below ₹1,20,000, whose names are on the family ration card. Cover includes the member, their spouse, dependent children (up to age 25 if unmarried and not earning) and dependent parents. Confirm your family's status on the official portal or with your ration card.
What you get
Cashless hospital treatment of up to ₹5 lakh per family per year on a floater basis (one member can use the whole amount if needed), covering a wide list of surgeries, treatments, diagnostics and follow-up at government and empanelled private hospitals. Treatment is cashless and existing illnesses are covered.

How to apply
- Check your family's eligibility on the official portal (cmchistn.com) or the helpline 1800 425 3993.
- Make your free family CMCHIS card at a designated enrolment centre or camp if you do not have one.
- Carry your CMCHIS card and ration card when you go for treatment.
- At the hospital, ask for the scheme's Medical Coordinator to guide you through cashless admission.
