What is it

A monthly payment for girls who studied in government schools, to help them continue into college and higher studies.

Am I eligible

For girl students in Tamil Nadu who studied classes 6 to 12 in government schools and have joined a regular higher-education course — a UG degree, diploma, ITI or other recognised course.

What you get

₹1,000 paid every month into the student's own bank account, until she completes her first higher-education course.

How to apply

1. The college usually helps register eligible students, or you can apply on the official portal (penkalvi.tn.gov.in).
2. Submit your government school study certificate and college admission proof.
3. Give your Aadhaar and your own bank account details.
4. Once verified, ₹1,000 is credited every month during your course.
