PMAY-Urban 2.0 (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana — Urban)
What is it
Help for families in towns and cities to build, buy or improve a pucca house, including a subsidy on the home loan.
Am I eligible
For families in urban areas who do not own a pucca house anywhere in India, within these yearly income limits: EWS up to ₹3 lakh, LIG ₹3–6 lakh, and MIG ₹6–9 lakh. Check the official portal for the exact papers each category needs.
What you get
Support comes through one of four routes — building on your own land, a house bought under a partnership project, affordable rental housing, or a home-loan interest subsidy. Under the interest subsidy, you get 4% off on the first ₹8 lakh of a home loan (loan up to ₹25 lakh, house value up to ₹35 lakh), up to ₹1.80 lakh over 12 years, paid into your loan account in instalments.
