What is it
A deposit-free cooking gas (LPG) connection for women from poor families, so no one has to cook over smoke.
Am I eligible
You must be a woman aged 18 or above, from a poor household, and there must be no other LPG connection from any gas company in your home. You confirm your household details through a simple self-declaration in the set format.
What you get
A gas connection in the woman's name with no security deposit and no installation charge — including the cylinder, a pressure regulator, gas hose, the DGCC booklet, a free first refill and a free single-burner stove.

How to apply
- Apply on the official portal (pmuy.gov.in) or at the nearest LPG distributor of Indane, Bharat Gas or HP Gas.
- Fill the Ujjwala form and attach your Aadhaar and bank details.
- Migrants without a ration card or address proof can give a self-declaration instead.
- The distributor verifies your details and issues the connection, stove and first refill.
