PM Suraksha Bima Yojana (Accident Insurance)

What is it

A very low-cost accident insurance cover that helps your family if an accident causes death or disability.

Am I eligible

You can join if you are between 18 and 70 years old and have a bank or post office savings account.

What you get

Cover of ₹2 lakh for accidental death or full disability (₹1 lakh for partial disability), for a premium of just ₹20 a year. It is a one-year cover that renews every year.

Documents needed

Tick off what you have. Use “Download checklist” to print a clean list to carry.

How to apply

1. Go to the bank or post office where you have a savings account.
2. Ask to enrol in PM Suraksha Bima Yojana and fill the consent form (you can also enrol through net banking).
3. Name the family member who should receive the money (your nominee).
4. Allow the ₹20 yearly premium to be auto-debited and keep the acknowledgement safe.
