Atal Pension Yojana (Pension for Later Life)

Young AdultAdult

What is it

A simple pension scheme for working-age people, so you have a fixed monthly income after you turn 60.

Am I eligible

You can join if you are between 18 and 40 years old and have a bank or post office savings account. You must not be an income-tax payer. It is meant especially for workers who have no pension from any job.

What you get

A guaranteed pension of ₹1,000, ₹2,000, ₹3,000, ₹4,000 or ₹5,000 a month after you turn 60 — you choose the amount, and your monthly contribution depends on the pension chosen and your age when you join. The same pension continues to your spouse, and the collected amount goes to your nominee afterwards.
